Supported Charities

Mountain Rescue England & Wales

At Hiking Buddies UK, we recognize the vital work of Mountain Rescue England and Wales (MREW) and proudly support their efforts. MREW is made up of highly trained volunteers who provide life-saving rescue services in some of the most challenging and remote environments. Whether responding to injured hikers, lost walkers, or emergency situations in the mountains, these dedicated teams operate 24/7, 365 days a year, relying solely on donations and public support.

Scottish Mountain Rescue

At Hiking Buddies UK, we are proud to support Mountain Rescue Scotland, an essential volunteer-led service that provides emergency assistance to those in need across Scotland’s rugged landscapes. With challenging terrain, unpredictable weather, and remote locations, Scotland’s mountains demand specialist rescue teams who work tirelessly to keep outdoor enthusiasts safe.

These dedicated volunteers operate 24/7, in all conditions, relying entirely on public donations to fund their training, equipment, and operations. Whether responding to lost, injured, or stranded hikers, their work is vital to the hiking and outdoor community.

The British Mountaineering Council

At Hiking Buddies UK, we are proud to support the British Mountaineering Council (BMC), the leading organization dedicated to protecting hikers, climbers, and mountaineers across the UK. The BMC plays a crucial role in promoting access, conservation, and safety in the great outdoors, ensuring that the landscapes we love remain open and protected for future generations.

From providing essential guidance on hillwalking and scrambling to campaigning for wild spaces and mountain conservation, the BMC works tirelessly to support outdoor enthusiasts. They also offer specialist training, advice, and insurance options for those venturing into the mountains.
