In the hiking community Hiking Buddies UK has been making waves, and we're thrilled to announce that we are finalists for the National Outdoor Expo Awards in the 'Outdoor Community Group of the Year' category! This recognition is not just a testament to our passion for the outdoors but also to the incredible hiking community that has rallied behind us.
Our journey began with Marlon Miah who was tired of hiking solo and wanted to find new Buddies to go hiking with, he created a Facebook post and a small group of like-minded individuals came together with a common goal: to create a space where outdoor hiking, camping and climbing enthusiasts could connect, explore, and make a positive impact on their mental health. Little did we know that this shared vision would lead us to the prestigious National Outdoor Expo Awards.
Over the years, our Facebook community group has organized countless events, from hiking and camping trips to environmental conservation projects such as litter picking. We've witnessed friendships blossoming, skills evolving, and a collective dedication to preserving the beauty of the great outdoors. The impact of our efforts has resonated not only within our group but also throughout the broader hiking community.
The news of becoming finalists in the National Outdoor Expo Awards took us by surprise and filled us with immense pride. It's a recognition of the hard work, passion, and dedication that each member of Hiking Buddies UK has invested in our shared mission. Being acknowledged on a national level is an honour that highlights the positive influence our community group has had on the hiking and outdoor landscape.
