What to Expect
A confidence-building weekend designed to get you mountain ready — whether you’re training for one of our big international trips or just want to boost your fitness and navigation skills in a stunning setting. Led by qualified guides, this is a relaxed but purposeful training weekend with plenty of laughs along the way.
Itinerary
Day 1- Arrival
Arrive at our accommodation in the Brecon Beacons and get settled in. If you are arriving before 1900 meet us at a local pub for some dinner.
Day 2 – First Hike
We will set out after breakfast and aim to hike the Pen Y fan horshoe.
This is a great chance to ease into the weekend, get your bearings, and learn a few useful hill skills.
That evening, we’ll head to a local pub for a hearty group meal and talk through kit, nutrition, and fitness tips for multi-day treks.
Approx. 12-18km | 5-7 hours | Open hill terrain
Day 2 – Full-Day Guided Hike & Skills
After breakfast, we’ll hit the hills for half a day of guided walking. You’ll practise essential skills like pacing, navigation, route planning, and dealing with mountain conditions.
We’ll wrap up the weekend around 13:00 after a final debrief and Q&A session.

Who’s It For?
This is ideal for anyone booked onto a big trek like Kilimanjaro, Toubkal, EBC, or the Inca Trail — or anyone who wants to get fitter, feel more confident outdoors, or test out their kit before a big trip.
Surrounding Area
The Brecon Beacons is a stunning national park in South Wales, known for its rolling hills, rugged peaks, and wide open spaces. Home to the iconic Pen y Fan, the highest peak in southern Britain, the area offers incredible hiking, waterfalls, and wild moorland. It’s a paradise for outdoor lovers, with a mix of natural beauty, rich history, and peaceful, panoramic views.
