What to Expect

A confidence-building weekend designed to get you mountain ready — whether you’re training for one of our big international trips or just want to boost your fitness and navigation skills in a stunning setting. Led by qualified guides, this is a relaxed but purposeful training weekend with plenty of laughs along the way.

Itinerary

Day 1- Arrival

Arrive at our accommodation in the Brecon Beacons and get settled in. If you are arriving before 1900 meet us at a local pub for some dinner.

Day 2 – First Hike

We will set out after breakfast and aim to hike the Pen Y fan horshoe.

This is a great chance to ease into the weekend, get your bearings, and learn a few useful hill skills.

That evening, we’ll head to a local pub for a hearty group meal and talk through kit, nutrition, and fitness tips for multi-day treks.

Approx. 12-18km | 5-7 hours | Open hill terrain

Day 2 – Full-Day Guided Hike & Skills

After breakfast, we’ll hit the hills for half a day of guided walking. You’ll practise essential skills like pacing, navigation, route planning, and dealing with mountain conditions.

We’ll wrap up the weekend around 13:00 after a final debrief and Q&A session.

Approx. 5-10km | 3-4 hours | Open hill terrain
